Absolutely fantastic experience for any Knitter or Crocheter. Fantastic place to stay - great company, had a fantastic weekend! - Mandy Mills (Coventry)
How to describe a Women With Wool retreat in one word? "Fabulous". The food, accommodation and setting are fabulous, thank you Fru. Belinda, and Rachel are fabulous, love the random chat. Finally the people you meet at the retreat are also fabulous. Treat yourself to a Women With Wool retreat and you will have a fabulous, fun time. - Elaine Orchard (Wiltshire)
The February Retreat was absolutely fabulous. There were plenty of laughs, food, and, of course, knitting. It was that brilliant that I am going again in October. - Marion Bottomley (Surrey)
I was looking for a quiet weekend away in Devon and wanted to take my knitting. Found that I could combine the two on a Women with Wool retreat. This was the first weekend they had organised. As it turned out the quiet was not to be - you will understand when you meet Belinda!
Setting was at Greenbank Bed and Breakfast in the heart of Dartmoor. I stayed the weekend and loved every minute of the warm welcome that I was given by Fru and Peter.
The group assembled and we all had the usual get to know you round and what did we hope to get out of the day. Out came the needles and off we went.
Belinda has boundless energy and enthusiasm, interested in the work you are doing, sharing her ideas and taking ideas from others. Rachel approaches in a much more methodical and calm manner but again, shares her knowledge and also takes away ideas from the group. The group came from all levels and backgrounds, beginners who left knowing how to cast on and knit socks to experienced knitters needing help with problems they were having, designers who skilled at writing patterns. What was great was it wasnt just the Women with Wool that pitched in on problem solving but the whole group.
Food played a large part of the day, Fru works wonders in her kitchen and feeds you like royalty, sat around her huge table sharing life stories and experiences.
By the end of the day, or the weekend if that is your option , you will feel like you are among friends and take away so much knowledge and information you will be sad to leave.
It was a joy to just sit and knit, knatter and share a day with like minded company. Lots of laughter and lots of fun. - Gaynor Dunkley
